Winter Term Reflection

I am absolutely loving winter term! It's fun and I don't have to stay up late every night completing assignments. Also, I have learned SOOOO many cool things about Photoshop. One thing I was not in favor of was the whole "yearbook design" deal. If the committee will not being using our ideas, then I do not see the point of spending two weeks on the yearbook design. I am hoping they will consider our ideas. If I had a say in deciding what to change in winter term, I would probably add a video project because that would be a fun addition to IMED. All in all, it was a fun small term.

Yearbook Cover

SO I feel like something is missing here....maybe the font is too bland?

MY LOGO

I aspire to become a pediatrician in the future; therefore I based my logo on medical images such as a stethoscope and alphabet letters made of pills. (I found the images on google...)

SMARTPHONE COVER

I LOVE PLAYING PACMAN AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD MAKE A CUTE PHONE COVER :)

SMARTPHONE COVER CONTEST

(GOT THE IMAGE FROM GOOGLE)

PORTRAIT PROJECT

So this is it; it is NOTHING compared to the one I originally made yesterday. Sigh...Oh well, at least I completed the assignment without falling behind!

Frustrated

Oh my gosh,

I'm pretty pissed right now because I worked really hard on my high key photo yesterday, but unfortunately, it did not upload correctly to Dropbox. Now I can't find it :(  I am going to redo it now and post it up on here as soon as I am done.

XOXO,

Best and Worst Covers

This cover is quite clever and cute. I like how the designer used actual beds to write out the word "bed". The colors go well together (no outrageous bright colors). Also, there is balance in the picture because the beds are neatly laid out in a line.

I really like this cover because it made me think. I can tell the colors were very carefully chosen, because the cover letters go hand in hand with the title. It took me a while to understand what the title was and who the author was, and for a second, I myself, felt dyslexic. The cover is simple, yet complex in its own way.

The 10 Worst Book Covers In The History Of Literature
All I have to say to this is "wow", just "wow". This cover is just outrageous. Not only are there far too many font colors and sizes, but the font isn't even clearly visible. The author has too many bright colors that do not create a smooth rhythm for the cover, and there is just too much going in it.

Oh goodness, this is just crazy. Zombie racoons and killer bunnies? Wow, I cannot stop laughing. The font colors are hideous and why did the designer even use 5 different fonts in the first place? There are too many pictures and colors in the background and this cover is not one that anyone would take seriously.

EXTRA:

HAHAHAHA, I THOUGHT THIS ONE WAS HILARIOUS SO I JUST ADDED IT TO THE BLOG!

Yearbook-IMED

Soooo, January term IMED class has begun and I am excited because we, the students, are brainstorming ideas for the yearbook cover. From the many yearbooks I have seen throughout the years, my main aim is to make the RCHS yearbook as different as possible, because we RCHS students are, after all, very unique. I think the yearbook cover should be black with small, inspirational words (if not purple, then white) running in rows across the entire cover. These words include brave, dedicated, intelligent, diligent, attentive, studious, industrious, outstanding, honest, leaders, etc. I believe this will be a constant reminder for students who look back at the yearbooks later on in their lives that they truly went above and beyond their potential. The title should say 2012-2013 in large bold letters in the top left corner along with a shooting star to symbolize our dreams and goals. These letters should alternate (going up and down) in a chain-like formation. Underneath this, "Richland Collegiate High School of Math Science Engineering" should be written. I think this cover idea is not only neat, but also classy and sophisticated, which will represent us RCHS students perfectly.
